My name is Gina and I was born and raised in Queretaro, Mexico. When I was 13 years old, my family made the big decision to move to the United States. Since then I have lived in New York, Louisiana, and now I reside in Chicago.
I am a senior at Loyola University Chicago pursuing a degree in Visual Communication. I currently work as a Junior Graphic Designer for the Department of Fine and Performing Arts at Loyola, as well as, I freelance to small businesses.
Since I can remember design has always been a part of my life. As a young girl, I was always the one that got caught doodling on the side of her notebooks. I was also the girl that enjoyed making posters and slideshows for school presentations so they could look "pretty". That passion for illustration and showing information in an organized and aesthetically pleasing format has now evolved into what today is my dream career.
I like my work to be bold, clean, and expressive. I pay special attention to the use of color, as a result of my Mexican culture, where color is the main communicative element, likewise I like my work to express a vibrancy that invites the viewer in.
